Warm audio 1176 mod.  Aug 7, 2016 · The WA76 is a pretty fantastic buy.  They don't skimp on components (the WA76 uses real Cinemag transformers built in the United States), but they do order and build in bulk, which keeps costs down.  Warm accomplishes it in a unique way.  It's faster to set an 1176 type compressor and it usually sounds cooler.  The WA76 immediately sounds impressive.  We have modified several warm audio Centavo Klones which also used Zener diodes for clipping, and the sound difference was more than I imagined.
